Springtime is one of my favorite seasons! Oh how I enjoy the song bird, the smell of fragrant blossoms lingering in the air, and the beautiful trees and flowers, they bring so much joy to my senses. However, there are those out there that when spring comes, it brings itchy and swollen eyes, scratchy throats and never ending sneezing attacks- ahhh chooo!
There are natural ways to deal with spring allergies besides running to the doctor for a prescription or grabbing an over the counter pill. You can say “No” to chemicals and side effects because, we are going to give you three ways to protect yourself this season.
Nutrition and Diet
This may come as a surprise but just changing your diet, you can improve your overall symptoms. Foods like red meat, gluten grains and dairy can increase your allergy symptoms including mucous build up, whereas foods that are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin E can protect you from allergy symptoms. So, load up on Omega-3 fatty acid rich foods like sardines, mackerel, and dark leafy veggies. Try cold-pressed flax seed oil or Evening Primrose oil on salads to get more Vitamin E. Spice your food up with turmeric because it helps reduce inflammation.
Another way to protect yourself this season is to incorporate supplements because you can add a higher concentration of nutrients. When it comes to supplements, you can also get supplements that support allergy relief. At our clinic, we offer top of the line supplements like Xymogen and highly recommend Allergy DHQ.
Last and maybe most importantly is taking an allergy test- not the kind where you get injected on your back or arm. The kind that I am referring to is a high-quality test called the Inhalant Allergens Test. Anyone who suffers from springtime allergies should consider our test because it gives you the exact causes of your allergy symptoms and comes with a natural protocol when results are positive. This season say, “Hello Spring!” with a smile on your face!
