Without our gut, we would not be able to digest all of our nutrients that are essential for life, which is why we should cater to our gut health. A healthy gut is a healthy immune system, and a healthy immune system has a healthy gut! They both go hand in hand. Many people today suffer from having an unhealthy gut which can lead to illnesses such as digestive problems, pain, fatigue, headaches and all the way to autoimmune diseases. Here are a few gut health rituals to help you reap the benefits of having better gut health.
Hot Lemon Water
I like to drink hot water with a half fresh squeezed lemon every day. Some people like to drink a cup of hot water with apple cider vinegar instead but for equal benefits, just make sure that it is raw with “mother.” Both of them help stimulate stomach acids and reduces indigestion symptoms such as bloating and heartburn.
Speaking of drinking, make sure to incorporate 8 to 10 glasses of water daily. Drinking water helps to keep you regular so that you are not “backed-up” with what needs to come out and it also helps flush out toxins.
Probiotics are essential to add to your daily routine for gut health. I enjoy probiotic rich foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, coconut yogurt, miso soup, kefir, and kombucha. I also take a probiotic supplement every day. Probiotics were the very 1st supplement I ever tried and it really helped improve my gut health! We sell top quality probiotic supplements in our clinic, click here if you want to check them out! Probiotics help the good bacteria in your gut so that the bad bacteria does not get out of control. Here is a look at the type of symptoms someone could have when their gut health is not good.
Symptoms caused by bad gut health can include the following:
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Gas and bloating
Lack of appetite
Weight gain or weight loss
Stomach aches and pains
Inability to do normal activities for fear of GI distress symptoms
See how important gut health is! Symptoms like those are not worth slacking on your gut health, so make sure that you have a daily routine that includes hot lemon or apple cider vinegar water, 8- 10 glasses of water, and foods rich in probiotics and take a probiotic supplement everyday! Furthermore, if you suffer from some of the above symptoms regularly, you should highly consider performing our Comprehensive Stool Test to help get your gut healthy again!
