It seems all our families have someone affected by Cardiovascular Disease in some way. Heart disease can arrive genetically, it can happen without warning or over time. Taking steps to understand your heart health can get you ahead of the game and perhaps prevent damage that eventually can’t be undone.
Testing For Cardiovascular Disease markers is too easy to dismiss! Having a lipid panel completed with important inflammation markers, with Nutritionally Yours will allow you to see first hand your personal results! Knowing your heart’s enemies, for instance, C-Reactive Protein, Fibrinogen, Lipids, and Homocysteine can help you create a plan that works for you and your heart health.
C-Reactive Protein is the most clinically studied of all the proteins that circulate in the blood. These proteins signal heightened states of inflammation which is fuel for the fire which can lead to coronary plaque resulting in heart attack. High C-Reactive Protein levels can increase heart attack risk threefold, even when LDL is low! These proteins are not to be ignored so testing, especially with a familial history of heart disease could save a life!
A second protein is Fibrinogen. This clotting protein helps maintain a balance of our blood flowing freely or clotting in response to injury. Fibrinogen can be modified by stress or an injury to form smaller protein called fibrin. Thousands of strands of fibrin accumulate at an injury site to form a blood clot. The problem begins when higher levels of Fibrinogen are present, and the balance becomes tipped in favor of blood clot formation which may end in a heart attack.
Homocysteine is a third protein that high levels can be associated with blood clots, heart attacks, and atherosclerosis. Many people have a, elevated homocysteine level, and they also have the gene deficiency called MTHFR which involves B12 and folate.
Know your numbers! All of these proteins begin with good intentions, however, out of control they can be your worst enemy! At Nutritionally Yours we offer a Comprehensive Cardiovascular Blood Test which covers all these proteins and more. Knowledge only leads to better health!
