Hi, I am Alane, a holistic nutritionist with 30+ years of experience in holistic health, metabolism, wellness, and weight loss.

I have lost weight easily before, but now it is slightly different. Menopause and hormones were involved.

So I worked harder and came up with a plan that has worked great for thousands of other women and me. I do not struggle to get the weight off women over 40 or any age.

My friend, You need a plan, and I have it – metabolic mastery is different, and it works, and here is why.

1) It includes comprehensive blood work to know if your metabolism is working right. If you are not getting the results you want, there is most likely something that has been missed with your metabolism. We will find it! Most clients tell me that they have never been to someone that runs metabolic labs as we do. They say they have always suspected something was wrong with their metabolism, but no one would listen or find it.

For example, your thyroid must work perfectly; if it is borderline, it is slow, and losing weight will be more difficult. An excellent metabolic weight loss program includes bloodwork for TSH, Free t3, Free T4, and thyroid ab.

Let me teach you a little about thyroid levels – TSH needs to be around 1.0 if you are looking for the fastest way to lose weight for women. The functional medicine range for TSH is 1.0-2.0, but the traditional medical range is under 4.5. So what happens if your TSH is 3.0? It is not a conventional hypothyroid, but it IS a functional hypothyroid and does need support. And Free T3 is all about optimal metabolic health; it must test around a 3.2. But again, the traditional range is around 2.0, which is relatively low.

And lastly, we run thyroid antibodies to ensure there isn’t an autoimmune issue against the thyroid. If there is, we tell you to easily tweak your diet to help your thyroid work better so you can lose weight fast and keep it off.

So, as you can see, the thyroid gland is much more than a superficial TSH level.

Also included in the metabolic mastery bloodwork are fat storage markers. These will tell you if eating fat like coconut is ok for you, inflammation markers to tell you if an anti-inflammatory diet is best, vitamin deficiency markers for breaking down fat, and much more.

So one thing I will not tell you is to count your calories……….that is not helpful for women looking up the fastest way to lose weight for women over 40. Once, it was suggested that I cut my calories, and I would have starved. I was only eating 900 calories at the time.

2) The 2nd thing metabolic mastery includes is saliva hormone and cortisol testing.

So often, I have women talk to me about their hormones being low in the blood, and they start using hormones and gaining weight. YUP. That is because when I run hormones in saliva on women over 40 that need to lose weight, the hormones are usually high – that means hormones are stuck in fat cells. So you have hormone deficiency symptoms but an overload in your tissues. We can fix that.

Another scenario that can occur is if a woman is deficient in hormones in the saliva, it usually causes the nasty hormone cortisol to spike, which causes hunger, weight gain, anxiety, and trouble sleeping, all the things that slow down your metabolism.
