You’ve heard the saying, “You are what you eat”? It’s a true statement, and your hair can attest to it. In many cases, testing your hair can be more accurate than a blood test.
What can a hair analysis tell you? Hair can tell you if you’re getting enough, or not enough, vitamins and minerals from your diet. For example, does your diet give your body enough iron? Your body requires iron to prevent anemia, which insures our body gets enough oxygen. But what if we get too much iron? Too much iron can cause adverse symptoms like migraines, arthritis and even cancer. Another example is calcium. Calcium is known to most people to strengthen your bones, but did you know iron can cause some people’s bones to become brittle and fragile? These are just a few ways that your hair can help you find answers to your nutrition questions.
