Getting a scoop of EVERYTHING is one way to add colors, vitamins, and minerals to your plate!
For those of us who adore food of all kinds, it’s a bit easier, but those who are more selective might need to dig a bit deeper to get those vitamins.
If you struggle to find a way to sneak healthy foods into your diet, try these strategies: “Incorporation” This focuses on foods you may not be crazy about but you can tolerate in smaller amounts. Try adding green foods for example that you may not like to a soup or a salad? Create a masterpiece with your salad by adding your favorite things whether it’s fruit, eggs, cheese or nuts, throw it all in and add in 1-2 items you may not like too much. You can also try a smoothie and add fruits and vegetables to it that you may not like, but in a smoothie, it does not matter. If you are a chocolate lover like Alane is, try making a smoothie with greens, berries and a scoop of cacao to make the drink “chocolate.”. And who knows, these healthy foods you don’t enjoy eating, may end up being some of your favorites after a while.
