Your gut is hosting the good, the bad and the ugly…Seriously, your gut is entertaining bacteria, some good and some bad. Since both the good and bad bacteria can live in harmony, it is usually not a problem. However, if the bad bacteria get out of hand and start to multiply like crazy, that is when it gets ugly.
What causes the bad bacteria to get ugly? When the Dysbiotic flora (the harmful bacteria) which consists of pathogens get out of control that is when it causes problems in the GI tract. This can happen for many reasons; sometimes it could be from using antibiotics (which kills everything including all the “good” bacteria), a poor diet of consuming too much sugar, processed food, and fast food, stress levels, inadequate fiber intake, and much more. Too much bad bacteria can cause chronic symptoms like bloating, vomiting, cramping, urinary tract infections, fever, and diarrhea.
Beneficial flora is the good bacteria that you want and need to have in your gut. It helps assist your GI tract by fermenting fibers, producing vitamins, digesting proteins and carbohydrates and aiding in good health overall. Scientist believe that everyone has about one to two pounds of bacteria in their gut! These bacterial microbes have significant roles in the gut and keep the mucosal lining in the GI tract maintained, assisting the breakdown of fibers through digestion to protect against pathogens.
Having a high or low count of a particular bacteria could result in inflammation which is the start of almost every chronic disease. Good news is that anyone can control bacterial balance in the gut! You just have to know your bacterial gut ratio, and that is the easy part. How? By performing our Comprehensive Stool Test Kit. This stool test is far more advanced than any other stool analysis profile. It uses OMP (Ova & Parasites Microscopic Exam) to identify microbiota with 100% accuracy including anaerobes, a previously immeasurable area of the gut environment. It is as easy as 1,2,3, and it can be performed in the comfort of your home!
