Lyme disease can be devastating, especially if it is not diagnosed promptly. Lyme often gets misdiagnosed with illnesses such as depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s and much more. Sometimes being prescribed one medication for an illness that is actually Lyme can make things worse. For example, giving a Lyme patient steroids when they have MS symptoms can make the patient worse since steroids suppress the immune system.
Being misdiagnosed can be one of the worst experiences for someone who needs a solution, because of the pain and the frustration of not knowing what is wrong and the symptoms not getting any better. Lyme symptoms can definitely be masking] as other health conditions. The most common Lyme symptoms include fever, chills, sweats, muscle aches, debilitating fatigue, nausea and joint pain. Some people experience burning sensations in their feet, an unstable gait, constant headaches, trouble with loud noises or bright lights.
