To live in a purpose is to live purposely. I always knew since I was a little girl that I wanted to be a mommy. Now that I am a mother of three, I want to be the best mom that I can be. Furthermore, I want to be the best wife, daughter, sister, and so on. Not that I am, but I strive to be. After all, I am not perfect. I want to exercise kindness in all that I do and not because I’m a saint, but maybe more so because I am not.
I think that people who genuinely love people end up living longer healthier lives. Of course, there will always be those who live long… miserable lives and most of those people usually complain, nitpick, and criticize others. They are never satisfied and usually end up sick in some way whether it be mental, emotional, or physically. Which is why the way we think, speak and behave affects our health either for good or for worse. The choice is ours, even if negative thinking has been a pattern, we CAN practice and learn to be grateful.
Being positive starts by being thankful. When you wake up and are grateful for another day of life and all that you have in life, like the people you love, and basic things like a roof over your head, you will immediately have a better start to your day than most people.
When we focus on helping others instead of being self-centered, our joy increases, and we feel a sense of satisfaction and purpose knowing that we are having an impact on others in a positive way. You can do acts of kindness in big or small ways. Encouraging other, helping others, volunteering, donating, or just acknowledging others are ways to live a purpose filled life without expecting anything in return from others. Be the KIND of person who does not ask, “What’s in it for me?” Leo Kellner a 92-year-old, is a beautiful example of, “How Purpose Enhances Your Health and Longevity.” Check out his story in this Amazing video in about 4 minutes, click here to watch.
