Ever wish you could go back to childhood even if only for a moment to enjoy the carefree life? I get it. Life can be so stressful at times. It is a given that almost everyone will experience stress at some point in their lives. After all, we cannot control every aspect of life. However, we can practice certain stress-reducing techniques to help us get through. These techniques can be done quicker than you can finish reading this! So, are you ready to learn how to reduce your stress in less 60 seconds? Let’s go!
Just breathe. Concentrate on deep breathing, inhale slowly and exhale slowly. Repeat several times, and your muscles will begin to relax, and your blood pressure will decrease causing you to relax.
Speaking of breathing, certain essential oils can be either inhaled (you can just sniff the cap) or directly put onto the skin to help reduce stress. Here are a few essential oils that are excellent for reducing stress: lavender, spearmint, orange, ylang-ylang, tangerine, lemon balm, and chamomile.
Listen to nature. If you are at work and have a smartphone, you can download an app to hear sounds of the beach, a brook, waterfall, or a rain-forest. These sounds are soothing and relaxing, so in stressful moments, go ahead and tap into nature for a minute or two.
Stretch Out. If you work in an office chances are, you are sitting and staring at the computer screen for an extended part of your day. Office jobs can often “do a job” on your back and neck, so take a time out and reach for the stars! Stretching will help reduce the tension and stress.
Laughter as Medicine. When the going gets tough, sometimes you just need to laugh. Don’t be so serious; laughter is good for the soul and your mind. Check out a quick video of funny animals, or read a quick joke. Besides, I never really heard of anyone “literally” dying of laughter:))
