When I started in this field back in the 1980’s I worked in several vitamin stores. I really enjoyed meeting all the people that knew so much about vitamins. My brain was like a sponge soaking in all the information. I would stay late reading books and listening to some of the other sales people and the customers and how vitamins helped or didn’t help them. It was a fascinating subject for me, mostly because I grew up just taking a little yellow multi vitamin pill that always upset my stomach. I had no clue what vitamins really were or how they could help people.
Over the years I definitely learned a lot so I attended a school to learn even more. The one thing that always bothered me about working in the vitamin stores is the number of people rushing in to buy that new vitamin with hope it would be the cure were looking for. They did not know for sure if they needed that vitamin, but they read about it or a friend told them about a specific vitamin and they just had to try it. I totally understand their desire to try anything to get better, but I had an issue deep down with spending money of things they may not be needing. People work hard and money does not grow on trees. So how can people buy vitamins but only buy what they really need? I did not learn the answer until a few years ago. I met a rep from Spectracell Lab and she told me about a vitamin and mineral deficiency test that tells you exactly which vitamins you need. This made me so happy, at my clinic I can show people their test results and then with confidence I can bring them into our vitamin section and show them exactly what their body needs.
We offer a vitamin and mineral deficiency test online so people all over the country and in Canada and get the answers they need about which nutrients their body truly needs, and does not need.
