What is Lipitor? Lipitor is one of the most popular statin drugs on the market for lowering cholesterol. Statins work by blocking the components that manufacture cholesterol in the body. Up to twenty percent of people who take a statin experience adverse side effects. Some of the most common side effects are muscle pain and weakness, but hormones are also affected.
