SpectraCell’s micronutrient testing is a clinically effective  tool for the prevention and management of health, wellness & chronic disease prevention and support.  There is overwhelming evidence confirming that nutrient deficiencies have been shown to suppress immune function contributing to chronic disease process including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis and Alzheimer’s.

Why Spectracell Lab?

  • Measures a combination of cellular functions for each micronutrient
  • Measure ability to support normal metabolic function
  • Determines individual functional requirements
  • Demonstrates the intracellular function simultaneously
  • Reflects average of long-term nutritional history (over 3 months)
  • Identifies biochemical individuality

Immunidex Score:
This score is a measurement of your immune response to stimulation. In general, people with fewer deficiencies respond stronger than people with more deficiencies. This response, reported an in Immunidex score, is one measurement of cell-mediated immune function.
More specific: It measures T-cell lymphocyte production. The higher the score the better.

CARDIO

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death. Standard cholesterol tests can miss that YOU are at risk. This CardioMetabolic test offers a clinically relevant evaluation to help define risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), progression toward Type 2 Diabetes, and inflammation. It includes our labs Advanced Lipoprotein Particle Profile™ Plus (LPPTM Plus), which measures lipoprotein size and density; cardiovascular risk stratification; and also includes triglycerides and traditional cholesterol screening. Each patient is assigned a CardioMetabolic Risk Assessment, which is an indication of your risk (Low, Moderate or High) for developing cardiovascular disease, including stroke and diabetes. In addition, the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment is an estimate of your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.  These check points help patients understand that not just one factor, but rather a constellation of risk factors, contribute to the genesis and progression toward poor blood sugar control and/or ASCVD.  Results of testing allow doctors to know when guidance, educational referral, or treatment is necessary.

Lipoprotein Particle Profile (LPP®)

Cholesterol has historically been used as the standard indicator for cardiovascular disease, often being classified as “good” (HDL) or “bad” (LDL). Studies have found that it is actually the lipoprotein particles that carry the cholesterol throughout the blood, not the cholesterol within them, that are responsible for key steps in plaque formation and the development of cardiovascular disease. The small, dense, cholesterol-depleted particles impart the highest risk, as does a higher number of these lipoproteins. Standard cholesterol testing does not tell us enough about the particle types—or subgroups—of each of these LDL and HDL families;  therefore, it misses the earliest opportunity to prevent adverse cardiovascular events, when it’s easiest to treat.

You have already had my cholesterol checked, why should you have the LPP test done?

Cardiovascular risk increases with a higher LDL particle count. With a higher non-HDL count, the probability of particle penetration of the arterial walls rises, regardless of the total amount of cholesterol contained in each particle.

More than 30% of the population has cholesterol-depleted LDL, a condition in which a patient’s cholesterol may be “normal” but their lipoprotein particle number, and hence their actual risk, could be much higher than expected. This is especially common in people whose triglycerides are high or HDL is low. In the population with a cholesterol-depleted LDL, there can be up to a 40% error in risk assessment.
