We then email you the name of a facility near you to get the blood work portion of the test completed. Note: they will have their own fee for this service (usually ranges from $25-$75). Saliva Hormones / Cortisol:
Blood tests only examine the levels of hormones in your tissues, known as “bound hormone levels”. Our saliva hormone test examines “unbound hormone levels” which are also known as “free-fractioned hormone levels”. This term describes the level of hormones that are available to be used by your tissues. This type of hormonal test provides you with a better understanding of hormone levels in your body that affect the tissues, and weight gain instead of just the level of hormones that are present in the tissues.
Example: If hormones are high in the tissues, weight loss will be challenging.
Example: If cortisol is high there will be more fat storage.
